To Speak or To Listen
Day 24 — Given the choice between having to live the rest of my life without my voice, or living the rest of my life without the ability to hear, I would choose…
My Voice or My ears? Which would I choose to discard if given an option of retaining, either of them?

Very difficult choice. Because My voice is equally important to me and my listening ability is also equally important. The first one, because, my voice is my chief tool of self expression, be it singing or speaking, crying or laughing. It is my way of sending out emotions into the universe. It is my way of calling out for help, for telling someone when I am in trouble, when I feel sad or upset. My voice is my easiest way of reaching out to someone..And Yet many of us dont use it or use it improperly.
On the other hand, listening ability is equally essential. Without our ears, how can we understand or know what other people want to convey? How can we obtain feedback to ours as well as receive others’ opinions? How can we understand others, their problems and empathise, if we are not able to listen?
Given a choice, I think I will choose the latter. If you have a voice but you cannot listen to what some one say, you miss out on a lot of information, feelings plus you will be forced to listen only to yourself. If the world consisted of only you, this virtue would be good. On the other hand, even if you dont have a voice, but you can listen to what others say, you may feel less lonely and still in tume with world. Yes, you may have to find other ways of expressing yourself..even though not having a voice sucks..

thanks a lot
The best way to express oneself really matters…this is a tough one..
Yeah. it is tough. and we know that there are people out there who live and celebrate their life, inspite of hearing impairments, speaking impairments..But to be given a choice to deliberately choose such an option?? not easy
This question caused everyone to look inward and I am thankful none of us has to really make the choice.
it is a very difficult think to decide. Most of us love the power of speaking. Few love the power of listening
I had never thought of this issue earlier. After reading the blog one has no choice but to agree with you. One can live reasonably at peace sans speech; but will likely to be reduced to a useless vegetable sans hearing.
it is a hypothetical situation, sir
my thoughts. would love to read the different opinions
Great answer.
